it’s been a while, but…

30 Oct

… i DO have a good excuse (well, four good excuses as it happens). the thing is i write my blog during evenings/weekends and i’ve been so wrapped up in other stuff i’ve had neither the time not the inclination…

anyway – here’s what i’ve been up to for the past four weekends:

weekend #1 – the powers last supper (ie my hen do)

whereby my beautiful and amazing bridesmaids organised a supper club JUST FOR ME with a south american inspired menu, loads of champers and disco dancing to boot!

the girls got a polaroid camera in and snapped a pic of me with my ‘hens’ (and photographer big ben) and each pic was then popped into a lovely album with a handwritten note – was bloody ace!

weekend #2 – running a half marathon

something i have already banged on about HERE and HERE

£1685 raised for MIND! whoop whoop! =)

weekend #3 – becoming mrs lister

i married the man of my dreams, in the dress of my dreams, surrounded by the people i love most in the world =)

i was 30 mins late for the ceremony (i HATED this – i am NEVER late and i was late for my own wedding! gah!) and it was raining when i arrived at the town hall BUT the sun came out during the ceremony and stayed out all day! my grandad’s speech was the highlight of the day  (people were crying with laughter AND emotion), the food was outstanding and everybody had a blast – hurrah!

we are still waiting for our unofficial ‘official’ pics but here are a few favourites taken by friends:

pic 1 – jim and one of his best men wait nervously for the tardy bride!

pic 2 – here come the bridesmaids

pic 3 – kerry jean and will power

pic 4 – mr & mrs lister

pic 5 – leaving the town hall

pic 6 – the best men, the bridesmaids and the listers

pic 7 – with our families

pic 8 – with our witnesses

pic 9 – top deck of the bus

pic 10 – a flattering angle for mrs lister

pic 11 – will power smashes it at the reception

pic 12 – the bride and her ‘little’ brother

pic 13 – CHEESE CAKE

weekend #4 – honeymoon in cornwall

i’m going to do a separate post dedicated to our week in cornwall. it was bloody amazing and warrants a nice lengthy pics-and-descriptive-text post. my only complaint is that, at five nights, it was far too short

that’s the problem when you take 6 month holidays – you have to scrimp elsewhere! ;-)

have a lovely weekend

kjl xx

    Hi Kerry
Blast from the past Helen here (remember us ringing Paisley Park to speak to Prince when you were 15?). I stumbled upon your Twitter & blog recently & just wanted to wish you all the best for the future. It’s great to see Scott looking so well too.
Sharon would have been very proud of you. I’ve often wondered how you’ve gone on over the years & am really pleased things have turned out so well for you. It made me smile reading your blog about Twin Peaks as I recalled you rushing over the road to discuss the latest on ‘damn fine coffee & cherry pie’ with me!!
    All the best
    ‘H’

I’ll look forward to it! I was really tempted to get in touch before the wedding but figured you’d have enough on your plate.
